Mary Sue is a Midwest dairy farmer's daughter who had the good sense to leave the long, cold Wisconsin winters and move to Tennessee where she resides in a rural setting with her husband and Elvis, the dog.
In addition to teaching University art classes, she has worked as a scenic artist in film and video, and participated in historic restoration on several notable landmark buildings in Nashville. She is currently taking the opportunity to stay at home and work in her studio.
As a child, she watched her parents and grandparents save almost everything, "because you just might need it", or it could be recycled into something else. Apparently, she inherited this same trait, because it is from her various assorted collections that she creates each series or individual work of art.
Her artworks can be found in many private and public collections throughout the country.
